In 1983, Melody and Tom Bennett began their worldwide adventure on the beach of Saudi Arabia. As expatriates living in the Middle East, they traveled throughout Europe, Africa, India, Nepal, Australia and the Pacific Islands, but were drawn back to South East Asia on numerous occasions. They explored the beauties of China, Thailand, Singapore, Maldives Islands, Hong Kong and Bali. Throughout the years they continue to travel to many fascinating places, but Bali continues to draw them back, with its exotic cultures, and simplistic beauty. In 2006, they decided that it was time to share the wonder of Bali and Southeast Asia with people from the western culture, and Berjalan Imports was born. Berjalan is the Bahasa Indonesian word for travel. Berjalan Imports’ goal is to provide the opportunity to purchase unique pieces of furniture, jewelry and handicrafts found throughout the region.

Our craftsmen in Bali as well as the owners of Berjalan Imports can design and manufacture pieces to meet your specific needs. We have searched many countries throughout the years looking for the best in each of our designated and believe we have found the sources to meet you demands. Our focus for our upcoming trips will be to continue to bring you the finest examples of each item as well as new and interesting pieces of Southeast Asia. In 2011,Berjalan Imports is expanding its product lines to include items from Japan. Future travel will also include trips back to Hong Kong, China as well as exploring Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Turkey.
